Staying with us
No two people are alike, so our services and the attention we will give to you will be different from our other residents. We treat all our residents as individuals.
Understanding your care needs
Prior to joining us we will complete a thorough assessment of your needs and discuss with you on a one-to-one basis how best we can meet your requirements and expectations.
Once you have joined us, an experienced member of staff will be assigned to you as your key contact. In this way you have someone special, who knows you well, that you can discuss things in detail with.
You’re in safe hands
We are registered with CQC to provide ‘Personal Care’ for the elderly under categories (OP) and (DE).
This covers:
- Care for residents who do not require the support of a qualified nurse on a daily basis, but who require assistance and personal care in their daily life (OP).
- Care for residents who are diagnosed as having a mild form of dementia (DE).
- Prior to joining us we will complete a thorough assessment of your needs and discuss with you on a one-to-one basis how best we can meet your requirements and expectations.
“My experience in deciding to choose Winthorpe has been one of the best decisions I could have made for Mum. She is really looked after well and seems totally relaxed, I’m also relieved that she is now in a safe environment. Thanks so much xx.”
Tracy RydlePersonal care plan
All Residents will have a tailor made computerised care plan. The personal care plan is developed with your involvement after admission. It will be reviewed and updated monthly to reflect any changes and to ensure that objectives for person centred care and support are addressed. Family and close friends are encouraged to participate in the resident’s daily routine wherever appropriate and are invited to review meetings.
Personal care
Bathing and assistance with daily personal care is part of our service. The more able residents can utilise the on-suite facilities including the en-suite showers.
Visits from family and friends
We have an open door policy and there is no restriction to visiting times.
Telephone calls
All bedrooms have a telephone point. There is also a payphone in the main reception area. Residents who wish to have a private telephone in their room may do so and arrange to pay their phone bills with the administrator.
Pocket money
All Residents have their own pocket money accounts which is readily available to them and their families for inspection.
Visits to the hospital
Should you feel unwell then your own doctor will be called out to attend to you and any follow–up medical treatment will be carried out by the district nurses who call at the Home on most days.
Meals and hot drinks
All meals are provided as part of our service and hot drinks are available at all times on request. Family and friends are welcome to join you for lunch or tea, provided that we are given at least a days notice in order for us to cater for the additional numbers.
Laundry
All personal laundry is carried on the premises and is part of our service. Items of clothing requiring ‘dry-cleaning’ is however not part of our service.
